Kia has released two official sketches of an all-new
small SUV that will be unveiled some time in the coming months. The South Korean car manufacturer
says the vehicle will feature a design inspired by the 2019 Kia SP Signature
Concept and target “the unique preferences and needs of the millennial
generation.”
The sketches show that it will look very similar to
the SP Signature Concept which premiered in India a couple of months ago. The
front, for example, will include a pair of sharp headlights which flow
seamlessly into a large grille. Additionally, there are vertical lights
incorporated into the lower portion of the bumper.
Spin around to the rear of the new SUV and you will
notice a rugged bumper as well as a pair of aggressive tailpipes, sharp LED
taillights and red reflectors. “We have created a car which stands out everywhere, from the city to
the countryside. Its robust yet sporty design will be matched by a wide range
of features and technologies that are universally suited to younger buyers in
markets around the world. Our new small SUV is a proposition that no other car
in its class will match,” head of styling at Kia Motors Corporation, Byung Chul
Juh, said about the vehicle.
Limited details about the new small SUV are known,
but it won’t be quite as small as the new Hyundai Venue. Kia says sales of the
vehicle will commence in Korea in the second half of 2019 before the vehicle
finds its way to other regions around the world.
