Renault has begun taking orders for its new Scenic
and Grand Scenic Black Edition models in France, with prices starting from
€ 33,100 for the former and € 33,700 for its slightly larger
sibling.
The new spec is available across the range, on both
petrol (TCe 140, TCe 160) as well as diesel-powered versions (Blue dCi 120,
Blue dCi 150), and will arrive in French showrooms starting with June 13, 2019
– buyers will still get a choice of either a manual or an EDC dual-clutch
automatic.
The Scenic Black Edition offers a “wide range of
features” for just € 1,800 more than what you’d pay for an Intens trim
model. The exterior boasts 20-inch Silverstone wheels with a black gloss
finish, black headlight masks and LED fog lights as standard, on both Scenic
and Grand Scenic models.
Inside, there is Alcantara upholstery, silver grey
top-stitching, a black headliner, aluminum pedal assembly and footrest,
protective mats, heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof and blind, plus a
color heads-up display.
Buyers willing to spend a little more can also equip
their family-friendly MPV with Lane Keeping Assist, Easy Park Assist, Adaptive
Cruise Control, 20-inch Quartz diamond-cut alloy wheels, a Bose sound system
and a 5-to-7 seat conversion for the larger Grand Scenic.
Those of you still interested in
purchasing French MPVs should consider the possibility that models such as the
Scenic and Grand Scenic will cease to exist. It was Renault boss Thierry
Bollore himself who admitted that the rising popularity of SUVs is a direct
threat to multi purpose vehicles.
