Based on the latest sightings of the upcoming Renault Triber, IAB's master designer Shoeb Kalania has come out with a rendering to preview its profile. Renault has designed the Triber such that its length doesn't cross 4,000 mm, because the GST levied on ICE-powered M1 category vehicles is higher if they are longer than 4,000 mm. The short overhangs and bonnet clearly indicate how the company has tried to accommodate as much as it can within the restricted length. 

A sharp character line covers almost the entire length and takes an upswing towards the end of the rear doors to form a subtle curve before meeting the wraparound tail lamps. Black plastic cladding on the wheel arches, doors and rocker panels and the roof rails give it a rugged, adventurous look. A low ground clearance means that this one's not part-SUV, part-MPV like the much bigger and higher class Tata Hexa that can do some off-roading too, though.

The Renault Triber reportedly sits on a modified version of the Renault Kwid's CMF-A platform. It will come with a more powerful (+7 hp) version of the 1.0-litre SCe N/A petrol engine that produces 68 PS and 91 Nm of torque in the hatchback. A turbocharged version will follow by mid-2020. A 5-speed manual transmission is a given, while a 5-speed AMT will follow by the middle of the year. A diesel engine option is not planned.

Key features of the Renault Triber will likely include projector headlamps, LED DRLs, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, passive keyless entry, engine start-stop button and removable third-row seats for extended luggage space.

Renault will launch the Triber in India in July, likely in the price range of INR 4.5-7 lakh (ex-showroom).
