Skoda never built an electric vehicle but that
changes today with the launch of the Citigoᵉ iV. Based on the Citigo city car, the
electric version packs a 83 PS electric motor and a 36.8‑kWh lithium-ion battery enabling a range of up to 265 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.
We’re dealing with a different
battery pack than the VW e-Up. The electric motor is pretty much the same and
produces an identical maximum torque of 210 Nm. This allows the
Citigoᵉ iV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.5 seconds and reach a
top speed of 130 km/h.
The 60-Ah lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 36.8
kWh and is mounted in the chassis floor, just like on the e-Up. It can be
recharged to 80 percent in 1 hour using a CCS (Combined Charging System)
charging cable connected to a 40‑kW DC fast charger. The charging
time to 80 percent capacity increases to 4 hours 8 minutes when a 7.2‑kW AC wall box is used.
Charging the battery at home to 100 percent capacity
via a 2.3‑kW station will take 12 hours 37
minutes. Both the CCS and the cable required for AC charging are standard
features for the Style trim level and options for the Ambition grade.
The Skoda Citigoᵉ iV will be offered exclusively as
a five-door model in two trim levels (Ambition and Style). You’ll distinguish
it from combustion-engined Citigo models thanks to unique details such as the
body-colored “radiator” grille, redesigned front bumper with standard fog
lights and LED DRLs, indicators integrated into the mirror caps, and Citigoᵉ
badge at the back.
Base Ambition models come with 14-inch steel wheels
including Indus wheel trims and 165/70 R14 tires as standard. The two‑tone 16‑inch Scorpius alloy wheels shod
with 185/50 R16 tires are optional for Ambition and standard for Style models.
Customers will be able to select seven exterior colors for the Citigoᵉ iV:
Candy White, Tornado Red, Sunflower Yellow, the exclusive Kiwi Green, Deep
Pearlescent Black, Crystal Blue, and Tungsten Silver.
Inside, the Citigoᵉ iV brings a redesigned
instrument panel and a more comprehensive standard equipment including power
front windows, Climatronic, remote central locking, Swing II radio, and the
Move&Fun smartphone docking station on the dashboard. A mobile phone can be
used as an additional display for vehicle data using the Move&Fun app.
The range-topping Style trim level adds goodies such
as the Leather Detailing package, power-adjustable and heated side mirrors,
height-adjustable front seats, and more. Safety-wise, standard features include
Lane Assist, front airbags, as well as head and thorax airbags for the front
seats. The Skoda Citigoᵉ iV enters production in the second half of the year.
