Here is Skoda
Superb crossover dubbed Scout. Already applied to other Skoda models including the Fabia and Octavia
wagons and the Karoq and Kodiaq SUVs, the Scout treatment turns the facelifted
Superb wagon into an attractive all-rounder.
Skoda describes the Superb Scout as a
“multifunctional lifestyle estate with raised ground clearance and all-wheel
drive” and we believe this definition pretty much sums it up. The defining styling features of
the jacked-up wagon include the 15-mm higher ground clearance offered
as part of the standard-fit Rough-Road package, as well as rugged body
enhancements such as the black plastic cladding and aluminum-look skid plates.
The bumpers are unique to the Scout version, as are
the aluminum-look mirror caps, chrome-plated roof rails and window frames, and
18-inch Braga alloy wheels. Special Scout badges on the fenders round off the
exterior upgrades. Optional styling features include a two-tone, 19-inch
Manaslu alloy wheel design and exclusive metallic Tangerine Orange body finish.
Inside, the new Superb Scout brings wood-effect
decorative strips, seat covers made of a Scout-specific fabric with contrasting
stitching, heated front seats, and additional off-road screens on the central
display. Options include Alcantara/leather seats with brown contrasting
stitching, heated outer rear seats, and a Sleep package (larger headrests and a
blanket), among other things.
All Skoda Superb Scout models come with standard
all-wheel-drive and the Rough-Road package which offers underbody protection
for the engine as well as undercarriage, in addition to the higher ground
clearance. The pack also brings an Off-Road mode for the Driving Mode Select
system. Dynamic Chassis Control is available as an option.
There are only two engines available for the Superb
Scout but chances are no one will complain because they are the most powerful
of the range. There’s a 2.0-liter TDI with 190 PS and 400 Nm of torque and a 2.0-liter TSI with 272 PS and 350 Nm of torque. Both units are mated to a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch
automatic transmission and feature Stop/Start technology and brake energy
recovery.
