Tesla has announced the UK pricing details of the Model 3, with the first right-hand examples to be delivered in June. The Model 3 is priced from £ 38,900 in base Standard Range Plus configuration, which offers a driving range of 415 km on the latest WLTP cycle.

Next up is the Long Range AWD model, priced from £ 47,900, offering 560 km of driving range, while at the top of the range we find the £ 56,900 Performance, which offers 529 km of range, but it’s the fastest of them all, with a 0-96 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a 261 km/h top speed. However, even the base Model 3 is pretty nifty, offering a 0-96 km/h sprint in 5.3 seconds and a 225 km/h top speed.

The Autopilot semi-autonomous driving system is fitted on all models as standard, but the much advertised self-driving capability is a £ 4,900 option, with Tesla also offering the upgrade post-purchase for £ 6,800.

The base version of the Model 3 is priced higher than initially expected, but there’s more equipment fitted as standard, including a “Partial Premium Interior” with 12-way adjustable heated front seats, a center console with four USB ports and two smartphone docks, an upgraded audio system with Bluetooth, navigation and LED fog lamps. Dual-Motor AWD models add rear heated seats, a premium audio system, satellite-view maps with live-traffic info, in-car internet, 18-inch Aero wheels and more.

Tesla will begin deliveries of the Model 3 in the UK sooner than expected, with the first cars to go to customers that had placed a deposit down back in 2016.
