The TVS Radeon commuter motorcycle will soon be
introduced in a grey colour option. The 110 cc product from the Hosur-based
two-wheeler brand was spotted in the new colour at a dealership. Currently, TVS has listed four
colour options on its website – Pearl White, Metal Black, Golden Beige and
Royal Purple. The Radeon was launched in India in August last year at INR
48,400*. The price has gone higher since launch, and now, the commuter
motorcycle retails at INR 50,070*.
The grey paint features white and red highlights on
the fuel tank and on the sides. Similar graphics are also seen on the Metal
Black colour option. Styling cues continue to include chrome garnish, 3D TVS
logo, car dashboard-inspired twin-pod instrument console, optional USB charger
and rubber pads around the fuel tank among others. Like in the other colours,
in the grey colour, the Radeon features a tan, brown colour-coloured seat with
a ribbed pattern.
The TVS Radeon competes with the likes of Honda CD
110 Dream DX and Hero Splendor Plus. The motorcycle is propelled by a 109.7 cc
4-Stroke, single cylinder Duralife engine that delivers 8.4 PS of power at
7,000 rpm and 8.7 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. The motor is coupled to a
four-speed constant mesh gearbox. Its cover has a champagne gold finish for a
premium styling.
Stopping power comes from 130 mm and 110 mm drum
brakes at the front and back respectively, while the safety net includes
Synchronised Braking Technology, TVS Motors’ branding for the combi-braking system,
as standard. A disc brake variant is not available. However, that could change
in the future. K N Radhakrishnan, President & CEO, TVS Motor Company, said
at the launch that new variants will come in the future.
Shock absorption tasks are performed by telescopic
oil damped suspension at the front and 5-step adjustable hydraulic suspension
at the rear. The motorcycle is only sold with alloy wheels that brings the
convenience of tubeless tyres to the package.
