Fiat faces an uncertain future in the United States,
but that hasn’t stopped the company from introducing the 2019 500X Urbana
Edition. Based on the 500X Trekking, the Urbana Edition has a unique exterior
with Miron black accents on the door handles, mirror caps and fascias, as well
as black accents on the sill moldings and taillight surrounds. Elsewhere, it
sports LED lighting units and black 18-inch wheels with copper center caps.
Last but not least, the model has roof rails and 500X logos with copper
accents.
The 500X Urbana Edition will be available in four
colors: Grigio Graphite (Graphite Gray), Vibrante Green, Bianco Gelato (White
Clear Coat) and Nero Cinema (Black Clear Coat).
Interior changes are more modest as drivers will
find unique seats with “black Castiglio chevron-patterned fabric and
copper-embroidered 500 logos.” Other highlights include a black-painted center
console and Miron-painted bezels for the radio and air vents. There’s also a
black-textured instrument panel with a copper 500 logo.
Fiat didn’t say much about equipment, but the 500X
does come standard with air conditioning, a 3.5-inch vehicle information
display and 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
compatibility. An assortment of options will be available including heated
front seats, a panoramic sunroof and an Advanced Driver Assistance Group which
adds adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross path detection
and forward collision warning plus.
Power is provided by a turbocharged 1.3-liter
four-cylinder engine that produces 177 hp and 284
Nm of torque. It is connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission and
all-wheel drive as standard.
The Urbana Edition package costs US$ 895, which means
pricing starts at US$ 26,890, excluding a US$ 1,495 destination charge.
