The global press launch of the all-new GLS was recently held in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mercedes has released a large image gallery of its luxury SUV. These images show the GLS in a number of different guises in stunning locations throughout the region and in a number of different guises. Among the models pictured are the range-topping GLS 580, the GLS 450 and the and GLS 400d.

Of course, the diesel won’t be offered Stateside, so those looking to pick up the new GLS in the U.S. only get to choose between the two petrol-engined ones.

The GLS 450 is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 48-volt EQ Boost mild-hybrid technology, pumping out a total of 362 hp and 500 Nm of torque, with an extra 21 hp and 184 lb-ft available for short bursts. Prices for tart at US$ 76,195 including a US$ 995 destination and delivery fee.

Opting for the range-topping GLS 580 gets you a 4.0-liter V8 engine with the same 48-volt EQ Boost mild-hybrid technology, which delivers a total of 483 hp and 699 Nm of torque and comes standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Pricing is, naturally, much steeper, as it starts at a cool US$ 97,800 before taxes and options.
