Just days after the
new Chevrolet Trailblazer was unveiled, Kleber Silva has rendered it as a
pickup truck. The design of the Trailblazer SUV has clearly been inspired by
the larger Blazer and features a very similar front fascia with thin,
horizontal headlights and daytime running lights, along with secondary
headlight units above faux air intakes. A large gloss black grille is also
featured in the future RS model.
Silva’s rendering
depicts the crossover with its roof chopped off slightly behind the C-pillars
to make way for a small bed at the rear. The vehicle clearly wouldn’t provide a
huge amount of cargo space in the bed but it would certainly create a rather
intriguing vehicle which buyers in the U.S. could snap up in their droves. The
Trailblazer pickup also includes enlarged roof rails.
Chevrolet first
unveiled the new Trailblazer in China at the Shanghai Auto Show in April. The
U.S.-spec model looks virtually identical to that, will land on local shores
early next year and slot between the Trax and Equinox.
The car
manufacturer hasn’t said what engine(s) the Trailblazer will be sold with in
the States, but we expect to see at least one four-cylinder petrol engine. The
vehicle’s edgy exterior design is matched by a fairly conservative cabin with a
three-spoke steering wheel, aggressively-shaped air vents, a large infotainment
system with a touch screen, and a number of metallic accents.
Considering the
smaller Trax starts at US$ 21,300 while the larger Equinox is available from US$ 23,800, expect the Trailblazer to be priced somewhere at the middle, which
means at around US$ 22,000.
