Fisker has released yet another teaser of the new
electric SUV, which partially reveals the car’s rear three-quarter design. Posted on Facebook by the
company’s founder, Henrik Fisker, it shows the floating-style roof with the electrically-removable
panel, pop-out, illuminated door handles, thin taillights that span across the
fenders and rear turn signals mounted on the D pillars.
The teaser is accompanied by a caption in which Mr.
Fisker announced that the zero-emission high-riding vehicle will premiere in
December, reassuring that the sub-US$ 40k price still stands. Intricate turn signals aside, the
yet-to-be-named SUV will feature a large grille in the front bumper, small
headlamps with LED DRLs and secondary running lights incorporated into the
lower half of the front end. The rakish windscreen was also previewed, along
with the fender flares that leave room for a pair of optional 22-inch rims, and
what appears to be plastic body cladding.
Power will be provided by two electric motors, one
on each axle, backed up by an 80 kWh battery pack in the base model that will
provide an estimated range of 483 km on a single charge. Full production of the Fisker
electric SUV will commence in the coming months and it will be made in the
U.S.A., although the company has yet to decide of the exact location of the
production site.
