Genesis’ 3-Series,
C-Class and A4 rival, the G70, has just been introduced to the Australian
market. The luxury sports sedan is offered with two powertrains: a 2.0-liter
turbocharged four-cylinder with 240 HP and 353 Nm of torque, and a
twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 with 364 HP and 510 Nm.
Both engine options
are sold in three different grades. The range, therefore, consists of the G70
2.0T, 2.0T Sport, 2.0 Ultimate, and the 3.3T Sport, 3.3T Ultimate, and 3.3T
Ultimate Sport. All models use an eight-speed automatic transmission and
rear-wheel drive.
Genesis sells all
G70 variants with a five-year/unlimited kilometer warranty, five-year/50,000 km
complimentary scheduled servicing, five-year 24/7 roadside assist, five-year
map updates, and a five-year subscription to Genesis Connected Services and the
‘Genesis To You’ valet service.
All Australian G70s feature Genesis Adaptive Control Suspension, Dynamic
Stability Damping Control and Electronic Control Suspension as standard. The
suspension was tuned to local roads, building upon the comprehensive testing
which Genesis previously did in the likes of Korea, Germany, the U.S., and
Sweden for G70 models sold worldwide.
Moreover, all models
come with seven airbags as standard. There is also the Genesis Active Safety
Control suite, which includes Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Driver Attention
Warning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with pedestrian detection, and a
lane-change oncoming function, as well as a Rear Cross-Traffic Collision
Warning system, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, a Surround View
Monitor in Ultimate-badged models, Forward/Reverse Parking Distance Warning,
and a Rear-View Monitor with parking guidance.
Prices for the
entry-level G70 2.0T start at AUD 59,300 AUD and increase to AUD 63,300 for the 2.0T Sport and AUD 69,300 for the 2.0T
Ultimate. The base 3.3T Sport model starts at AUD 72,450 and rises
to AUD 79,950 for both the 3.3T Ultimate and 3.3T Ultimate Sport.
