If there’s one thing
the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk does not lack, that is power. If, however, for
whatever reason you feel the need for extra speed, then O.CT is one of the
names to remember. The tuner has reprogrammed the ECU of the 6.2-liter
supercharged V8, upping its output to a whopping 819 PS and
950 Nm of torque.
O.CT says that the
Stage 1 upgrade will soon be joined by the Stage 2, which, aside from the
modified ECU, will add a supercharger pulley kit and enhanced transmission
software. The result will be even more amazing: 865 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque.
By comparison, the
stock Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has to make do with 716 PS and 873 Nm of torque. Naught to 100 km/h takes 3.7
seconds and, if you find a long enough Autobahn, it’ll keep going up to 289 km/h.
Mind you, as
amazing as O.CT Tuning’s achievement may be, it pales next to what could very
well be not only the most powerful Grand Cherokee Trackhawk out there, but the
fast accelerating SUV the world has seen so far: Hennessey’s 1,200 hp and 1,355 Nm masterpiece. Which makes the
Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Bentayga Speed seem irrelevant, as with 2.3 for
the 0-96 km/h sprint and a 321 km/h top speed, it is
gunning for genuine supercars instead.
