The Kia Seltos' interior has partially leaked in spy
shots again, this time revealing some new equipment. Snapped in South Korea,
the latest spy shots show the Kia Seltos equipped with features like all-black
upholstery, twin rear AC vents and a Bose sound system.
It was confirmed from the earlier interior spy shots
and teasers that the Kia Seltos will feature a head-up display, and a nicely
laid-out, broad dashboard with vertically positioned outer air-con vents as
well. A massive 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which will be the
biggest in the segment and offer navigation, and a configurable mood lighting
system has been officially confirmed. Also, there will an analouge-digital
instrument panel which comprises of a large MID between the analogue rev
counter and speedometer.
The Kia Seltos is based on the upgraded version of
Hyundai Creta's platform. It will be available with two engine options, a 1.5L
N/A petrol unit and a 1.5L turbocharged diesel unit. The transmission duties
will be handled by a 6-speed manual unit or a 6-speed automatic unit. Also, to
woo the petrolheads, a performance variant powered by a 140 PS 1.4L turbocharged
petrol engine paired with a 7-speed DCT will be introduced later. This
performance variant will also feature paddle-shifters.
In India, the Kia Seltos will be manufactured at the
company's new plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. It will be officially
unveiled on 20 June and its sales will commence by July this year. It will be
priced from around INR 10-11 lakh (ex-showroom) and will lock horns with the
likes of Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and Tata Harrier.
