KTM India has extended its product portfolio with the launch of the RC125. The fully-faired motorcycle is available at INR 1.47 lakh*. The bookings for the RC125 ABS have commenced, while the deliveries will begin by the end of this month. The RC125 is built around KTM’s steel trellis frame, and it comes equipped with premium features such as upside down front suspension by WP at the front and a triple clamp handlebar. Shock absorption tasks at the back are performed by a 10-step adjustable monoshock suspension. A 300 mm front and 230 mm rear disc are tasked to bring the vehicle to a halt, while the safety net includes a single-channel ABS by Bosch. KTM will offer two colour options for the RC125.

Engine specifications include a 124.7 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-Valve, DOHC motor with fuel injection technology that makes 14.5 PS of peak power at 9,250 rpm and 12 Nm of max torque at 8,000 rpm. Complete technical specifications are available in the table at the end of the post.

The KTM RC125 will compete with the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0. The fully-faired Yamaha motorcycle is available in three colour options. The Thunder Grey and Racing Blue paint options are available at INR 1,39,680*, while the Darknight colour retails at INR 1,41,680*. Despite the lower price tag, the Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 comes with a dual-channel ABS, variable valve timing and an assist/slipper clutch as standard.

The higher displacement of the Yamaha YZF-R15 gives it an edge in terms of performance. The fully-faired Japanese motorcycle draws 19 BHP at 10,000 rpm and 15 Nm at 8,500 rpm from its 155 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, fuel-injected engine.
