London EV Company has revealed the light van version of its TX electrified London Taxi, being one of the first to offer a range-extender electric commercial vehicle in the market. he new LCV features the same e-City electrified powertrain with the TX, which uses a Volvo-sourced 1.5-liter petrol engine as a range-extending for its 31kWh battery pack and rear-mounted electric motor.

The Geely-owned British car maker claims that their latest product offers 130 km of EV range, and 606 km when combined with the range extender. The new LCV targets professionals who travel around 100 miles a day in cities, offering “distribution to door” between out of town depots and city centers. Thanks to its electrified powetrain, it can enter freely areas like the Ultra-Low Emissions Zone of London when operating in EV mode.

Perhaps the most important topic of a light van is the capacity of the load area: the LEVC LCV can hold two Euro pallets, featuring a carrying capacity of over 800 kg. Sales of the new LEVC LCV are expected to start in the second half of 2020 in the UK, with more countries to follow.
