After commencing the pre-bookings for the Bullet
Trials Works Replica in the UK, Royal Enfield has launched the motorcycle in
the country at £ 4,699. For reference, the
standard Royal Enfield Classic 500 also retails at £ 4,699 in the UK. Do note
that Royal Enfield does not offer its 350 cc range in the UK market and thus
the company will sell only the Bullet Trials Works Replica 500 in that market.
Inspired by Johhny Brittain’s trials motorcycle,
which won more than 50 championships between 1948 and 1965, the Trials Works
Replica features design and hardware upgrades over the standard Classic 500.
The endurance motorcycle-inspired front fascia features a headlight grille and
fork gaiters that enhance its rugged persona.
The motorcycle rides on 19-inch and 18-inch front
and rear wheels at the front and back respectively that, like on the stock
motorcycle, come in wire-spoke design. The wheels on the Bullet Trials Works
Replica 500 model, however, are shod in dual-purpose tyres. The bike also
benefits from a bash plate to protect the engine against various elements such
as pebbles and mud while off-roading. Lastly, it comes with shorter front and
rear fenders than the standard bike.
To further enhance the premium looks, the Bullet
Trials Works Replica 500 comes with a 3D Royal Enfield badge and chrome
treatment on various parts such as headlight mask, blinker mounts, rear-view
mirror housing, fuel tank's sides, front fender and the oval box on the sides.
The Trials Works Replica 500 gets an olive green paint for the chassis,
sub-frame, swingarm, front fender mounts and the centre stand.
Engine specifications remain identical to the
standard Classic 500 that uses a 499 cc air-cooled FI engine. Paired with a
five-speed transmission, the single-cylinder motor makes 27.1 BHP of max power
and 41 Nm of max torque. Hardware specs continue to include disc brakes on
either end, dual-channel ABS, conventional telescopic front forks and
twin-sided springs at the back.
