The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF MotoGP edition was
launched yesterday in India at ₹1.1 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is the
same as the standard model's price. Well, besides announcing this launch,
Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL) also noted that it will also bring in
the MotoGP edition of the Gixxer SF 250 albeit next month. The company hasn't
revealed the exact date though.
Based on what the two-wheeler manufacturer is
offering on the new Suzuki Gixxer SF MotoGP edition, it would be fair to assume
that the changes and updates on the MotoGP edition of the 250 cc Gixxer SF will
be largely similar in nature, if not completely the same. That means, the new
Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 bike too will feature only cosmetic changes and no
mechanical changes at all.
The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF
250 MotoGP edition will be mechanically similar to the standard model of the
bike. This means it will come powered by a 249 cc, Suzuki Oil Cooling System
(SOCS)-enabled four-stroke, single-cylinder fuel-injection SOHC engine. This
motor generates a maximum power of 26 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm at 7,500 rpm.
Suzuki added that the SOCS technology not only renders the engine light-weight
but also quick, thus delivering a smooth ride. For safety, the bike will also
come equipped with a dual-channel anti-lock brake system (ABS).
Now, if the Gixxer MotoGP edition's price is
anything to go by, we believe that the new Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP
edition's price too will be the same as the standard model of the bike, i.e.
₹1.7 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
