Cadillac has unveiled the facelifted XT5 for the United States. The crossover has been equipped with revised fascias and a “bolder” grille. The latter is flanked by newly standard IntelliBeam LED headlights. Additional changes are limited, but the XT5 features restyled 18-inch alloy wheels. Luxury and Premium Luxury models can be equipped with optional 20-inch wheels, while they come standard on the XT5 Sport.

Besides the wheels, the XT5 Sport is distinguished by dark exterior accents and unique taillights. The model also has a quicker steering ratio, an adaptive suspension and a standard dual-clutch sport control all-wheel drive system. Interior updates are more extensive and include new colors and trim themes as well as a “richer selection of authentic materials and coordinating décor.” There’s also a new center console that features redesigned cup holders and a “wrapped bin at the front.”

Elsewhere, designers installed a revised rear seat and additional sound deadening material. The 8-inch infotainment system runs the latest software and can be accessed by a rotary controller with a new jog function. The crossover also offers a next-generation wireless smartphone charger and Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to enable one-touch phone pairing. Rounding out the updates are a USB-C port and newly standard heated front seats. The crossover can also be equipped with a newly available Bose Performance Series sound system that features metal speaker grilles.

Under the hood, there’s a new entry-level engine in the form of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. It produces 237 hp and 350 Nm of torque. The engine comes standard on Luxury and Premium Luxury models and is connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The 3.6-liter V6 will continue to be available and it produces 310 hp and 367 Nm of torque.

Lastly, the 2020 XT5 gains a handful of new and improved driver assistance systems. These include a new rear pedestrian alert system as well as an enhanced automatic parking assist system.

The 2020 Cadillac XT5 will go on sale late this summer and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
