Honda have announced details of their 2020 CRF
off-road and trail bike ranges, with updates including more power, upgraded
chassis components and new colour kits. Starting with the road-going
CRF250L, 450L and CRF250 Rally, Honda have gifted the bikes with new colours
and graphics, with all three machines now available in 'Stealth' black,
alongside the more traditional red and white.
Although the only changes announced to all three
bikes, a concept CRF450L Rally shown at last year’s Eicma and Motorcycle Live
shows could hint at a larger-capacity road legal mud-plugger at a later date.
Honda have also announced revisions
to their off-road fleet, with the CRF250R getting the lion’s share of the
attention; including chassis upgrades taken from the larger-capacity CRF450R. Coupled with this is an increase in low-to-mid range
grunt, as well an 8% raise in peak power and torque, thanks to some internal
fettling like an upgraded cylinder head and piston design.
To make use of that improved performance, Honda have
revised the bike’s second gear and added low friction coatings to both third
and fourth. What’s more, stability is also improved by weight reduction within
the frame and swingarm, by improving chassis flex.
