The 2020 Honda
Jazz has already been caught testing several times and is inching closer to its
production form with ever passking day. The new model wil mark its global debut
at this year's Tokyo Motor Show in October. Based on the various sightings,
Auto Esporte has come up with a rendering to showcase how the fourth-generation
Honda Jazz could look like.
The 2020 Honda Jazz departs from its current sharp
and aggressive body lines, and adopts a more sedate and soft look. With the
full model change, the Jazz will return to its roots and will fare a
light/youthful design compared to the sporty design on the current model.
The highlights of the
new model would be its curvaceous LED headlamps with LED DRLs, rakish
windshield, a short bonnet, swept-back radiator grille and horizontal tail
lamps. The front grille should get a chrome bar in a fashion typical of the
company's latest styling theme. The new bumper would house circular fog lamps
with chrome detailing around the circumference. On the inside, the new-gen Jazz
is likely to receive a 7-inch driver information display similar to the one on
the 2019 Honda Pilot.
Under the hood, the 2020 Honda Jazz will get a
conventional turbocharged petrol engine, most likely a 1.0-litre VTEC Turbo
three-cylinder unit. As per the press release divulging the world premiere
information, there is also a hybrid powertrain on the cards, which should be a
1.5-litre petrol engine working together with two electric motors. This hybrid
powertrain will make use of company's i-MMD dual-motor technology.
The 2020 Honda Jazz will be even available in a pure
electric variant that will be available internationally in the early-2020. Its
range is expected to be around 300 km. The Jazz EV will lock horns with the
widely famous Nissan Leaf EV.
