The Baojun 530,
sold as the MG Hector in India, is about to get a facelift in China. IAB has
managed to unearth the first images of the facelifted Baojun 530, which would
reach our market as the facelifted MG Hector in the future.
The Baojun 530 was
first unveiled in November 2017 and launched in March 2018. Thereafter, it was
updated with a new engine along with CVT in November last year. The new
facelifted model as seen in the picture above features a reshaped radiator
grille, a new design for the projector headlamp assembly which sits besides the
fog lamps in a blacked-out tri-arrow housing. The lower grille, too, has been
completely redesigned and is much smaller now. The new, straightened LED DRLs
give a cleaner look to the front-end.
The profile is
entirely the same. Even the alloy wheel design is not new. While at the rear,
the tail lights and the tailgate remain in the same design. The lower bumper
has been revised. It has a new garnish strip and new reflectors, fog lamp and
reverse light.
The new Baojun 530
measures 4,695 mm in length, 1,835 mm in width and 1,750 mm in height. IAB can
confirm that it will be available with a 146 PS 1.5-litre
turbocharged petrol engine. The original model's 1.8-litre naturally aspirated
petrol engine will not be offered in the new model. The turbocharged engine
should be offered with 6-speed MT and CVT options.
The 2020 Baojun 530
will likely be unveiled and go on sale in China later this year.
