Bentley is
ready to make an important step into the future. And they will do so with the
EXP 100 GT, a concept car that will be unveiled to the world on July 10. The
study will feature a zero-emission powertrain and will have the ability to
drive its occupants on its own.
It will also get “a
fascinating array of materials seamlessly blended together by the designers at
Bentley Motors, who have taken handcraftsmanship of materials to an as yet
unseen level to set the new benchmark for luxury craftsmanship”, according to
the automaker.
Everything else is
in the tiny details seen in the video that accompanies the announcement. Thus,
the show car gets illuminated sill logos that become visible after opening of
the door, which seems to be rising vertically, suggesting perhaps that it will
get scissor doors. The EXP moniker has previously been used on other Bentley
concepts, the ‘100’ is a clear reference to the company turning 100 this year,
and ‘GT’ tells us that it’s a grand tourer.
Fans can register
on the dedicated Centenary microsite here before this coming Saturday, to see
the live unveiling of the EXP 100 GT Concept, next Wednesday, at 16:00 GMT
(11:00 am EST). Nothing has been confirmed so far, but given the importance of
the show car, we wouldn’t be surprised if Bentley decides to bring it to the
2019 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
