According to Bugatti CEO Stephan Winkelmann, the luxury hypercar-maker isn’t interested in joining the likes of Bentley or Lamborghini in building an SUV. In fact, it was Winkelmann himself who resisted such a project back when he was CEO of the Italian automaker, saying that such a vehicle would not be “a real luxury car” – at the time, a production version of the Estoque was also under consideration.

Well, anybody who follows the automotive industry closely probably knows by now that there’s no such thing as a definitive “NO”. In fact, saying no usually means “not right now,” or “not while I’m in charge” – things of that nature.

Would you bet money on Bugatti never building an SUV? We definitely wouldn’t. But what would such a car look like? Well, given what we already know about the automaker’s current design language as seen on the Chiron, we feel that this rendering by Sajdin Osmancevic represents something that could co-exist with the Chiron, while also possibly acting as a direct rival to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

Altogether, we’ve seen a bunch of different Bugatti SUV renderings, but none as elegant as this one, dubbed Spartacus. Among its most noteworthy features we count the gigantic wheels, blacked-out A-pillars (or floating pillars), wing mirror cameras, dual-slit panoramic roof and an overall design that’s surprisingly retro.
