Caterham has launched a CSR version of the Seven
485, which is available from € 54,995 in markets outside the UK. Compared to the regular 485, the
CSR brings a few updates such as a push-rod inboard front suspension, fully independent,
double-wishbone rear suspension, aero front wing guards and special 15-inch
alloys wrapped in Avon ZZS tires.
Standard gear includes a choice of four exterior
colors, a limited-slip differential, carbon dashboard, carpeted interior
panels, adjustable seats wrapped in leather and a collapsible Momo steering
wheel. Should you want to spec your new Caterham with some options, then you
can choose from a list that includes carbon fiber front fenders, LED DRLs,
carbon leather side panels inside and black Alcantara on the dashboard.
Powering the new 485 CSR is a 2.0-liter Ford Duratec
engine. It produces 237 PS and 206 Nm of
torque,for a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.9 seconds and to a top
speed of 225 km/h.
The 485 CSR tips the scales at just 580 kg, which results in a power-to-weight ratio of 409 PS per
ton – almost on par with supercars like the Ferrari 599 and
Lamborghini Huracan, hence the impressive acceleration.
