A German company has developed a new
emissions-busting motorcycle that mixes human input with battery power. The eROCKIT 2019 has pedals like
a conventional bicycle, however multiplies the effort put in by 50 times,
thanks to an internal 52-volt lithium-ion battery-powered motor.
The firm unveiled the bike earlier this year,
claiming a top speed of 80 km/h and a range of over 70 miles between four-hour
recharges.
The bike weighs just 120 kg thanks to an aluminium
frame and alloy wheels, but costs a fairly hefty £ 10,500. And riders will need
a bike licence to use it on the road.
If you fancy getting your hands on one, the first
batch of eROCKITs will be available as a 100-strong 'Limited Edition 100'
series in three colour options.
