Honda has taken the wraps off its new adventure
scooter, the 2019 X-ADV 150 at the 2019 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show
(GIIAS). Though the ADV 150 takes inspiration from Honda’s 745cc, twin-cylinder
X-ADV scooter that’s designed to tackle both tarmac as well as trails, the ADV
150 is more a road-biased scooter.
To begin with, the ADV 150’s design looks more or
less like a scaled-down version of the bigger X-ADV. The large front apron,
twin LED headlamps and adjustable windscreen is in line with the design
language of the larger X-ADV, but the 150’s lines and headlamp placement gives
it an identity of its own. The tail section has also been executed neatly and
gels seamlessly with the rest of the body.
For this ADV 150 specification has a length of 1,950
mm posture, width 763 mm and height 1,153 mm. The weight for
the CBS version is 132 kg while the ABS is 133 kg. So the weight is 1 kg
heavier than PCX, which version of CBS 131 kg and ABS 132 kg.
The ADV 150 engine
with a 149.3 cc capacity is exactly PCX. Maximum power of 14.4 hp at 8,500 rpm
and maximum torque of 13.8 Nm at 6,500 rpm. That means the power is smaller
than PCX which is 14.6 hp, but the torque is greater than PCX which is only
13.2 Nm. Transmission is certainly CVT, not DCT like X-ADV. Telescopic front
suspension, double rear with additional subtank.
The wheels used by
ADV 150 use striped size. Front rim ring 14 inches wide by 2.5 inches wrapped
in tires 110 / 80-14, while the rear ring 13 inches wide 3.5 inches wrapped in
130 / 70-13 tires. The tires used are tubeless. Front and rear disc brakes,
front clamped 2 piston calipers while behind 1 piston. There are ABS and CBS
versions.
The official price of the Honda ADV was finally
released by Astra Honda Motor. For the ABS type - the ISS is priced at IDR 36.5
million (On The Road Jakarta) which is available in two colors, namely Advance
Red and Advance White. Meanwhile the CBS-ISS type is sold for IDR 33.5 million (On The Road
Jakarta), and has four color choices, namely Tough Matte Brown, Tough Silver,
Tough Matte Black, and Tough Red.
