The Honda CR-V Mugen Limited Edition is now on sale
in Malaysia, and as the name suggests, it will be a limited-run variant. The
latest version of the popular SUV is capped at a total of 300 units, and is
based on 1.5L Turbo 2WD variant. This is priced at RM 152,900 for the Passion
Red Pearl exterior colour, or RM 153,300 if opting for White Orchid Pearl;
prices are on-the-road without insurance. The model for sale here wears the 18-inch alloys as found on
the standard vehicle.
The CR-V Mugen gets
body-coloured extensions beneath the front bumper, along the the sides and
beneath the rear bumper, while the front also gets a grille garnish and the
rear gets an upper wing. As with the concepts, Mugen badging top off the CR-V’s
latest clothes. The Mugen add-ons for the limited edition CR-V are limited to its
exterior, which still leaves a generous kit list inside nonetheless; black
combination leather is paired with wood finish accent interior trim as standard
on the Turbo 2WD variant, as are four-corner parking sensors and automatic
wipers.
Standard equipment across the board and therefore
also on this CR-V includes auto LED headlamps, DRLs and foglamps, smart keyless
entry with push-button start ignition, full-colour LCD TFT instrumentation,
paddle shifters, dual-zone air-conditioning and support for Apple CarPlay and
Android Auto. Safety features include six airbags, VSA and Agile Handling
Assist, hill start assist, auto brake hold and rear Isofix mounts.
The 1.5 litre turbocharged mill
is as found in the series production versions. In the case of the CR-V Mugen,
the L15B7 turbocharged four-pot produces 193 PS at 5,600 rpm and 243 Nm of
torque from 2,000 to 5,000 rpm, which drives the front wheels through an Earth
Dreams continuously variable transmission (CVT).
