Kia will launch the
Seltos in India on 22 August this year. Well over a month before its launch,
its preliminary brochure has leaked online, courtesy RushLane. Kia has already
revealed its plans of coming up with 265 touchpoints across 160 Indian cities
and its dealerships are expected to be fully operational by tomorrow, which is
when it will start taking pre-orders. The pre-booking amount will be INR
25,000.
As per earlier
reports, the Kia Seltos will arrive at the dealerships by July-end and its test
drives will commence from the first week of next month. The list of Kia
dealerships in India along with addresses had leaked online last week.
The Kia Seltos will
be available in three engine options, all of which will be BS-VI compliant from
the launch. It will have a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (115
PS/144 Nm) mated to a 6-speed MT or a CVT, a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel
engine (115 PS/250 Nm) which will be available with a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed
AT and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine (140 PS/242 Nm) mated to a
6-speed MT or a 7-speed DCT. This 1.4-litre engine will be exclusive to the
performance-oriented Seltos GT-Line trim.
The Kia Seltos
petrol range will start from GTX grade and go up to GTX+ grade. While the Kia
Seltos diesel will commence from HTE grade ranging up to HTX+ grade. The top
grades of the Kia Seltos will be equipped with high-end features like LED
headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, 17-inch LED tail lights, 10.25-inch
touchscreen infotainment system, a head-up display, 360-degree around-view
camera, sunroof, multi-coloured ambient lighting, cooled front seats and Bose
audio system.
The Kia Seltos is
headed to its home market (South Korea) before India, where it has gathered
over 3,000 pre-bookings within just 8 days. There, it has been priced from KRW
19,300,000. In India, its prices could range between INR 11
lakh to INR 17 lakh (ex-showroom).
