The Kia Seltos has bee launched in its first market
- South Korea, with prices ranging from KRW 19.29-26.36 million (US$ 16,401-22,413). Pre-bookings had commenced on 26 June, and within 16
days, by yesterday, 5,100 units had been pre-booked.
The South Korean-spec Kia Seltos is almost identical
to the Indian-spec model. Its exterior features include
signature tiger-nose grille, LED headlamps with 3D multilayer direction
indicators, ice cube LED fog lamps, LED rear lights and skid plates. The only
design element which differentiate them both is the presence of additional
special black treatment on the side body of the model sold outside. Also, while
the South Korean-spec model is available with 18-inch alloy wheels, the
Indian-spec model settles for 17-inch alloy wheels.
Similarities are also carried over to the inside of
the cabin as it gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with UVO
connectivity suite, head-up display, heated and ventilated seats, wireless
phone charging and 8-speaker Bose sound system among others. Three interior
colour options are available: black, plum and brown.
The South Korean-spec Kia Seltos measures 4,375 mm
in length, 1,800 mm in width, 1,615 mm in height (1,600 mm without roof rails)
and has a wheelbase of 2,630 mm. There are two engine options available:
1.6-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.6-litre turbocharged diesel. The petrol
engine generates 177 PS of maximum power and 264 Nm of peak
torque, while the diesel engine dishes out 136 PS of maximum power and 32.6
kg.m (319.70 Nm) of peak torque. A 7-speed DCT is standard, while a 4WD system
is optional.
