McLaren is ceasing production of the 600LT Coupe. The
British firm has unveiled a new example enhanced by MSO. Commissioned by McLaren London,
as part of the retailer’s celebrations of selling the 1,000th car since it
began operations in June 2011, it features a carbon fiber roof and roof scoop
and 10-spoke, ultra-lightweight wheels finished in gloss black contrasted by
orange brake calipers.
Orange has been used inside for the stitching on the
seat pads and the 12-o’clock mark on the carbon black Alcantara steering wheel.
The headrests have a ‘600LT’ embroidery and the accelerator pedal has the same
branding, while a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, reversing camera, parking
sensors, axle lift and McLaren Track Telemetry system are part of the package.
This 600LT Coupe has also been equipped with the MSO
Clubsport Pro Pack, which adds front fender louvres, titanium wheel bolts,
carbon fiber racing seats and interior trim and six-point harnesses. While the Coupe will leave
production soon, customers will still be able to purchase the 600LT Spider,
which is also offered in a limited run. The open-top Macca has a sticker price
of £ 201,500 in the United Kingdom, and US$ 256,500 in the
U.S., without any options.
The convertible packs
the same 3.8-liter, twin-turbo V8, with 600 PS and 620 Nm of torque. That’s enough to rocket it to 100 km/h in 2.9
seconds and up to a 324 km/h top speed – a mere 4 km/h slower
than the Coupe.
