Suzuki has unveiled a sporty concept of the Ertiga
at the ongoing GIIAS 2019 motorshow in Indonesia. This concept has been built
in collaboration with Signal Group Indonesia. While the new-generation Ertiga
is already a smart looking MPV, the concept displayed at the motorshow carries
a slew of external tweaks which gives it a slightly more sophisticated and
elegant look.
Certain design elements like chunky triple-slated front grille,
redesigned lower bumper with silver accents, newly designed alloy wheels, and a
high-mounted spoiler at the back make it a more premium looking vehicle.
At the front, its headlamps design remain largely
the same but now it weaves seamlessly into the redesigned grille which looks
sumptuous. Also it gets chrome bar on its lower side profile which makes it
look more premium. Furthermore, the interiors too have a more elegant touch
with the use of faux-wood at the dashboard and leather upholstery.
Under the hood, the concept MPV has the familiar
K15B 1.5L petrol engine. This naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit delivers
104.7 PS at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. 5-speed manual and
4-speed automatic are the transmission choices. It comes with a number of
safety and security features such as dual SRS airbags, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors and more.
In other updates, Maruti Suzuki is working on a
6-seat Ertiga (Ertiga Cross) which it will reportedly launch on 21 August. This
model will have a more modern and imposing stance compared to the regular
Ertiga and on the inside, it will flaunt an upmarket dash layout, more spacious
and comfortable cabin, along with a host of entertainment and comfort features
including captain seats in the middle-row. It will likely carry a different
name.
