The following weekend is going to be a busy one for
Porsche, who will take the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport and 935 to the 24 Hours of Spa,
unleashing them in a 30-minute race.
Behindthe wheel of the GT2s will be FIA-WEC drivers
Christian Ried and Egidio Perfetti, James Sofronas, who raced in the 2019
Blancpain GT World Challenge America, Creventic 24 Hour Series drivers Steffen
Gorig and Mark Ineichen, and six-time Olympic gold medalist in track cycling
Chris Hoy.
Limited to 200 units, the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport is
the racing version of the street-legal GT2 RS. It was presented at Los Angeles
last November and packs the same 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six making 700 PS, sted to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The car
comes with many mechanical upgrades over its road-legal counterpart, including
the brakes, suspension, a roll cage and bucket seat with six-point harness, and
several CFRP parts.
With the production capped to 77 cars, the the 935
Clubsport is more exclusive. Its exterior design is reminiscent of the 935/78
Le Mans racer, which was dubbed the Moby Dick due to its white base color and
elongated shape. Presented last fall, the 935 is powered by the same 3.8-liter
twin-turbo, flat-six unit as the GT2 RS Clubsport and has an identical output.
