Suzuki
Motorcycle India has launched its MotoGP edition at INR 1,10,605*. In
comparison, the standard 2019 Gixxer SF retails at INR 1,09,870*. The MotoGP edition brings the
livery of Suzuki’s GSX-RR MotoGP motorcycle to the 2019 Gixxer SF. The model
receives the blue paint from the GSX-RR bike along with Suzuki Ecstar decals on
the fairing. The styling is further enhanced with contrasting graphics on the
body panels and stripes on the wheels. The MotoGP livery and colour add a new
charm to the 2019 Gixxer SF and make it even more desirable.
The MotoGP-inspired paint theme joins the existing
palette that includes Glass Sparkle Black and Metallic Sonic Silver. The MotoGP
edition uses the same engine and hardware as the standard model. Propelling tasks are performed by
the air-cooled, 154.9 cc 2-valve, SOHC motor with a fuel injection system that
produces 14.1 PS of peak power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of max torque at 6,000
rpm. The mill is linked to a five-speed gearbox. The braking setup of a single
disc brake on both wheels is administered by the safety net of single-channel
ABS.
Suzuki Motorcycle India has also confirmed that it
will launch the Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP edition and announce its prices in August
2019. Similar to the Gixxer SF MotoGP edition, the quarter-litre Gixxer will
also get the racing motorcycle-inspired paint and graphics. The MotoGP edition
of the 250 cc model will carry a marginal premium over the standard bike that
retails at INR 1,70,655*.
The engine specifications on the Gixxer SF 250
MotoGP edition will be similar to the standard bike. Paired to a six-speed
transmission, the 249cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, SOHC engine with
Suzuki Oil Cooling System (SOCS) makes 26.5 PS at 9,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm at
7,500 rpm. The bike will come with dual-channel ABS.
