Dual-channel ABS has brought the Mahindra Mojo back
on sale after a long hiatus. The tourer has undergone several changes to become
more appealing. The Mahindra Mojo ABS has been spotted only in the black paint
scheme so far. Now, a Bangalore-based dealer has shared an image of the new
Mahindra Mojo in Blue shade.
The 2019 Mahindra Mojo ABS is retailed only in solid
colours for now. There is no confirmation on whether dual-colour editions will
be introduced on a later date or not. The new blue paint scheme was previously
seen in the Mahindra Mojo UT300. Minor changes to that include body-coloured
front fender and tail section.
Unlike the old model, the new model has a
single-sided exhaust unit. It is suspended on conventional telescopic fork up
front to keep costs under check. Besides that, it misses out on LED DRLs. Also,
the golden coloured frame has been painted black, just like the box-type
swingarm. Unlike the Bajaj Dominar 400, it doesn't feature LED headlamps and slipper
clutch.
Powering the Mahindra Mojo ABS is the same 294.72 cc
liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC mill. Coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, the
engine produces 26.30 PS of power and 28 Nm of torque. In comparison, the Mojo
XT300's engine made 27.19 and 30 Nm. The Mojo UT300's engine delivered 23.11 PS
of power and 25.5 Nm of torque.
Other mechanical changes in the ABS model include a
reduced rake angle which will make the handling improved during city riding.
The updated model tips the scales at 181.5 kg (wet) and has a 165 mm ground
clearance. Braking duties are overseen by a single large 320 mm petal disc with
radially mounted calliper sourced from Bybre up front and a 240 mm unit with a
floating calliper at the rear. The Mahindra Mojo ABS is priced at INR 1,88,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Besides that, Mahindra is also reported to be working on an electric version of
the Mojo.
