The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro is poised to receive a new performance and styling package dubbed the Shock and Steel Special Edition. As of this writing, GM has yet to release any pictures of the new special edition, but we do know exactly what it’ll offer all the same.

The new 2020 Chevrolet Camaro Shock and Steel Special Edition package is assigned GM RPO code B2E. Customers can get the package with either the viewable-from-space Shock paint option (GKO) that was introduced in conjunction with the 2019 Camaro refresh, or the less noticeable Satin Steel Metallic (G9K).

The package includes upgraded Brembo four-piston front performance brakes (J55), as well as yellow-painted calipers (J6E). The rest of the package adds on styling changes, and includes the following components:
  • 20-inch blade-design aluminum wheels (Q7F/56Y)
  • Carbon Flash-painted sideview mirrors and center stripe, which is painted Silver when paired with Shock exterior paint, or painted Shock when paired with Satin Steel Metallic paint
  • Spoiler stripe (SHT)              
  • Carbon fiber instrument panel molding (3DL)
  • The 2020 Chevrolet Camaro Shock and Steel Special Edition package also includes a number of LPO-level items, including:
  • Fuel filler door in black with visible carbon fiber insert (VQL)
  • Body-color wing (5V5)
  • Black sueded knee pads (S0U)
  • Premium carpeted floor mats (VYW)

The new 2020 Chevrolet Camaro Shock and Steel Special Edition package will be available on 2LT, 3LT and 2SS trim levels. In addition to the exterior paint options already mentioned, the package also requires the Jet Black interior (H0Y), while 2LT and 3LT trim levels also require the optional RS Package (WRS).

The new Shock and Steel package will not be available at the start of 2020 Chevrolet Camaro production, as it will become available slightly later. We’re excited to see how it looks when it finally drops, and we think all the styling changes could do well to enhance the Camaro’s already-electrifying design. It’s worth noting that the design received a mild tweak for the 2020 model year, consisting of a revised front fascia for the Camaro SS. The change came in response to negative feedback surrounding the face of the 2019 Camaro SS, specifically the horizontal black bar.
