In an attempt to
align its offer with market demand, Citroën UK has announced that it will drop
the base Feel trim level C4 Cactus Hatch from its lineup. Starting from
October, the range will be reduced from three to two grades, Origins and Flair.
The reason for that is simple: so far this year, 80 percent of sales have been
for the range-topping Flair.
Citroën is
therefore axing the Feel, which means the Origins Collector’s Edition that was
introduced earlier this year as part of the brand’s centenary celebrations will
be the new entry point at the crossover’s range.
Standard features
include 17-inch Cross black alloy wheels, MirrorScreen with Apple CarPlay and
Android Auto, rear parking sensors, automatic air-conditioning, automatic
lights and windscreen wipers, 7-inch color touchscreen, as well as an exclusive
Origins interior ambience and exterior color pack with bronze accents.
The current
best-selling Flair trim level adds front parking sensors, keyless entry and
push button start to an already comprehensive list of equipment. The C4 Cactus
Flair offers standard Active Safety Brake, Speed Limit Recognition, color
reversing camera, and Citroën Connect Nav with a three-year subscription to
TomTom Live for real time traffic updates. Also included is the Citroën Connect
Box Emergency & Assistance System.
While the Origins
model only offers the PureTech 110 S&S three-cylinder petrol engine with a
six-speed manual transmission, the Flair is available with two PureTech petrol
(110 PS/109 hp and 130 PS/128 hp) and two BlueHDi diesel units (100 PS/99 hp
and 120 PS/118 hp). The more powerful engines come with standard six-speed
automatic transmissions. Customers can already order the updated C4 Cactus,
with deliveries scheduled to begin in late October.
