Honda is making a special accessory package
available on all 2020 Odyssey trim levels in order to celebrate the minivan’s
25-year anniversary. The 25th Anniversary package can be purchased through Honda dealers
beginning tomorrow, August 13, and features chrome accents, special badges and
available 19-inch wheels. Also new is the fact that all Odyssey models now
boast Idle Stop and a 10-speed automatic gearbox as standard, while a new
Platinum White Pearl replaces White Diamond Pearl in the model’s exterior color
palette.
Through five generations, the Odyssey was the first
minivan to introduce features such as third-row seats that fold into the floor,
a built-in vacuum cleaner (aka HondaVac), as well as the first in-cabin child
monitoring system (Cabin Watch).
The new package adds a chrome roof rack, body side
moldings, lower door garnish and rear bumper protector, illuminated sill plates
with the 25th Anniversary logo, special 25th Anniversary badges on the front
fenders and tailgate, plus a 25th Anniversary key fob.
Meanwhile, the standard Idle Stop system and
10-speed automatic gearbox work alongside the 280 HP 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 engine
– on LX, EX, EX-L, Touring and Elite trims. The LX comes standard with push
button start, two USB ports, a Multi-Angle Rearview Camera and automatic
climate control.
Odyssey EX models get the Honda Sensing suite of
safety and driver assistive goodies, blind spot information, the automaker’s
Magic Slide 2nd-row seats with seating for eight, power sliding doors and
tri-zone automatic climate control with rear controls. The EX-L trim adds
leather, one-touch power moonroof with tilt feature, power tailgate, and an
additional three USB ports for a total of four – plus sat-nav and a rear
entertainment system.
As for Touring and Elite trims, they get LED
headlights, HondaLink with 4G LTE WiFi, front and rear parking sensors,
HondaVac and CabinWatch. If you can swing for the top of the range Elite
version, you’ll also enjoy a heated steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers,
wireless phone charging, power folding mirrors, ventilated front seats and a
premium audio system.
The 2020 Honda Odyssey is priced from US$ 30,690 in
entry-level LX trim, while the 25th Anniversary Package will cost you an extra US$ 1,500 (or US$ 2,800 if you also go for the new 19-inch wheels).
