A prototype for the facelifted Porsche Panamera has
been spied testing, and while it may not look very different than the current
model, it does sport some changes.
We first caught a glimpse of a 2020 Panamera
facelift prototype testing in early July, but that example was a Sport Turismo
model, while this one is a saloon. Perhaps the first thing which will catch
your eye about this prototype are the new taillights. While there is tape
covering part of them, we can see that they are slightly thinner than the ones
of the current model and also feature simplified graphics.
Other changes have been made to the front fascia,
with the most obvious being a re-designed bumper with circular fog lights, a
different grille design, and what appear to be four horizontal LED daytime
running lights. Our spy photographers were unable to snap any images of the car’s
interior. However, previous shots have suggested that some minor tweaks will be
made, like the fitment of a new steering wheel.
The 2020 Panamera will continue to be sold in a
number of different variants, including variants such as the Panamera 4,
Panamera 4S, Panamera 4S Diesel, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, and Panamera Turbo. Those
hungry for power will also be able to purchase the Turbo S E-Hybrid Guise which
has a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine and an electric motor for a combined 671
HP and 850 Nm of torque.
Porsche hasn’t released any details about the
revamped Panamera’s launch, but it will probably make its premiere at a major
auto, with September’s Frankfurt Auto Show or the LA Auto Show in late November
being the most likely candidates for this year, or perhaps Geneva if Weissach
chooses to do so in 2020.
