Toyota has bumped up prices for
the 4Runner heading into the 2020 model year, with pricing documents revealed
that some variants have been hit with premiums exceeding US$ 2,000 compared to
2019MY ones.
Sitting at the base of the 2020 4Runner range is the
SR5, priced at US$ 37,140 including destination, a US$ 735 increase over last year’s
model. Next up is the SR5 Premium at US$ 40,335, a significant US$ 2,100 more than
the 2019MY. Prices for the 4Runner TRD Off Road and Off Road Premium models have
also jumped by US$ 1,280 and US$ 2,100 respectively.
Sitting at the top of the 2020 4Runner range is the
TRD Pro, which gets a US$ 2,975 hike and is priced from US$ 50,885. That’s a serious
amount of money, particularly since the 2020 model doesn’t receive any upgrades
or new parts over the 2019 one.
Toyota increased prices for the 4Runner last year as
well, including the TRD Pro which skyrocketed by US$ 3,340. However, as Cars
Direct reports, the 2019 model included new shocks, a redesigned roof rack,
different skid plate and bespoke wheels.
The Japanese car manufacturer has also announced
higher starting prices for many of its other trucks. For example, the base
Toyota Sequoia now starts at US$ 54,525, US$ 955 more than last year’s model, while
the Platinum trim costs an additional US$ 1255, bringing the total to US$ 70,565.
