A leaked photograph of the upcoming 2020 TVS Apache
RTR 200 4V gives a look at the final product. The 2020 iteration of the
motorcycle features updates to the front fascia. The 2020 TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
will come with a full LED headlight. The revised headlamp setup will be
accompanied by redesigned DRLs. Every other
styling detail looks identical to the current Apache RTR 200 4V. Thus, you
would see a dual-tone finish to the fuel tank with an asymmetrically mounted
filler cap, a split seat layout, styling pillion grab rail and an engine cowl.
Even the alloy wheel design has been retained from the BS-IV model.
Bigger changes will come on the mechanical front as
TVS will upgrade the power mill to comply with the newer, more stringent
emission norms. The BS-VI compliant range will pack a fuel injection as
standard while the carburettor system will be discontinued. The performance
figures will most likely remain near identical to the existing fuel injected
model. The 197.75 cc air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-valve, SOHC motor with
fuel-injection makes 21.0 PS of peak power at 8,500 rpm and 18.1 Nm of maximum
torque at 7,000 rpm. The Apache RTR 200 4V will most definitely retain the five-speed
gearbox with A-RT (Anti Reverse Torque) Slipper Clutch technology.
The source report adds that the 2020 iteration of
the motorcycle will pack an updated instrument console that will benefit from
Bluetooth connectivity. The system can be linked to a smartphone app to access
features like turn-by-turn navigation. Hardware specifications will
continue to pack conventional telescopic front forks and an adjustable rear
monoshock at the back to perform the shock absorption tasks. Braking department
will comprise petal-type disc brakes while the safety net will be handled by
dual-channel ABS as standard. Clip-on style handlebars will add sportier
ergonomics. The 160 cc version, on the other hand, will come with a flat,
single-piece handle for an upright riding position.
The 2020 range is ready to roll out from the dealerships,
and the motorcycles could arrive post-October 2019. The new range will most
likely carry a price premium over the existing models. The current Apache RTR
200 4V Fi, for reference, retails at INR 1,10,388 (ex-showroom Delhi).
