Benelli Imperiale 400 has been
launched in China at CNY 23,800. Benelli Imperiale 400 bears
aluminium alloy rims with chrome spoked wheels while the spring-based rider
seat adds to the retro charm. Its circular retro headlamp gets a chrome
outlining. Same as in the case of the twin-pod instrumentation. The tail lamp
and indicators add to the charm. However, the tank pad on the fuel tank has a
sharp resemblance of the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
Suspension of the Benelli Imperiale 400 is courtesy
conventional 41 mm telescopic forks up front and twin springs at the rear. The
bike tips the scales at 205 kg and has a ground clearance of 150 mm. Its fuel
tank can store 12-litres of petrol. The motorcycle has 19-inch and 18-inch
wheels at the front and rear, respectively. The front wheel has been shod with
110/90 spec rubber, while the rear rim is draped in a 130/80 tyre. The bike has
a wheelbase of 1,440 mm.
Powering the Benelli Imperiale 400 is a 374 cc
single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC unit. Coupled to a 5-speed gearbox, the
engine produces 21.07 PS of power and 29 Nm of peak torque. The powerplant is
Euro 4 compliant and gets fuel injection. Braking power comes from a 300 mm
single disc rotor up front with twin-piston calliper and a 240 mm disc rotor at
rear with a single-piston calliper. ABS is a standard fitment.
