A test mule of the upcoming Ducati Streetfighter V4
was spotted during a fuel stop somewhere in Europe, along with another
motorcycle that appears to be the new Panigale 959.
The suspension setup hints that the motorcycle in
the video is the entry-level variant of the upcoming naked roadster. Like the
Panigale V4 range, the Streetfighter V4 will be available in at least two
variants - Streetfighter V4 and Streetfighter V4S. The base version will use
the Showa BPF front forks and Sachs rear monoshock – both fully adjustable
(manually). Braking hardware on the base model will most likely pack Brembo
Monobloc Stylema M4.30 callipers at the front.
The more premium model with the “S” badge will come
with more advanced hardware such as Ohlins NIX30 front forks and Ohlins TTX36
rear monoshock – both electronically adjustable. Ducati may also introduce an
“R” model (limited edition? Maybe) that will share its engine and hardware
specifications with the 998 cc Panigale V4R.
Engine details of the Streetfighter V4 and the
Streetfighter V4S will include the 1,103 cc, four-cylinder, 4-valves per
cylinder, liquid-cooled, Desmosedici Stradale 90° V4 motor that also propels
the Panigale V4 and the Panigale V4S. The naked roadster is likely to carry
relatively lower power output figures that the fully-faired model. For
reference, the Desmosedici Stradale 90° V4 makes 214 hp at 13,000 rpm and 124
Nm at 10,000 rpm on the Panigale V4 range. The naked roadsters, on the other
hand, may deliver power output in the range of 180 PS – 200 PS.
The premium S model will come standard with features
like Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) up/down EVO as standard while the base model will
receive the tech as an optional extra. As reported earlier last month,
Ducati will unveil its 2020 model range on 23 October, before showcasing the
motorcycles at the EICMA show in November (5th to -10th) 2019.
The Streetfighter V4 is likely to join the
Multistrada V4 and the new Panigale 959 among others on 23 October. We may also
see the new variants of the existing Multistrada 1260 and the Scrambler range
at the unveiling event. The new type-approval documents from the US
Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) revealed the Multistrada 1260 S Grand
Tour and the Scrambler Icon Dark brand names earlier this month.
