The ES 300h F Sport
will join the existing Luxury and Sport Luxury grades in Lexus’ Australian
dealerships in October. Lexus says the F Sport brings a more emotional design
and enhanced agility while retaining the regular model’s ride comfort and
quietness.
Typical styling
elements include the signature mesh grille with jet black plating on the
sharper bumper and rear garnish. The package also includes 19-inch F Sport
alloy wheels (the Luxury model gets 17-inch rims) and F Sport fender badging.
Moreover, the ES
300h F Sport features brings standard triple-beam LED headlights with
sequential turn indicators and adaptive high beam, as opposed to the Luxury’s
bi-LED headlamps with automatic high beam.
Inside, there’s a
unique F Sport 8.0-inch TFT driver display, F Sport-embossed sport front seats,
perforated-leather F Sport steering wheel, and Lexus-first Hadori aluminum
ornamentation. Customers can have two interior trim options, F Sport Flare Red
and F Sport Black.
Compared to the
Luxury and Sport Luxury, the F Sport adds an Adaptive Variable Suspension
(AVS), which had five driving modes (Eco, Normal, Sport S, Sport S+ and Custom)
and is available in the ES 300h for the first time in Australia. With the
introduction of the new grade in October, every ES 300h sold in Australia will
offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility as standard for the
12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The Lexus Safety
System+ suite of driving assistance tech is standard on models, with the F
Sport getting a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert and a panoramic
view monitor. The powertrain is the same as the other trim levels and consists
of a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle four-cylinder gasoline engine working with an
electric motor to produce a combined 215 HP. Pricing will be announced closer
to its release date.
