Originally launched in April 2016, the Tata Tiago is
about to get a facelift this year. A new spy shot has revealed that the
facelifted Tata Tiago will feature a fully digital instrument cluster. Tata Motors has been keeping a good
eye on the USPs of the Tiago's rivals, and the fully digital instrument cluster
of the Renault Kwid is one of them. So, it's going to add that feature to its
car with the facelift this year.
The fuel level indicator and rpm meter have been
added on to the sides of the cluster. The panel displays all the necessary
information like the current speed, ODO meter reading, mode info (City/Eco),
and more on the centre display. The fully digital instrument cluster of the new
Tata Tiago will most likely be offered in even the new Tata Tigor which is also
expected to be launched by early next year.
The interior updates may include fresh trim and new
upholstery. It goes without saying that safety features like driver airbag,
speed alert system, reverse parking sensors, driver and front passenger SBR,
manual override for the central locking system, ABS and a speed warning system
will be part of the standard fitment, as required by the latest AIS-145 safety
regulations.
On the outside, one can expect revisions to the
front fascia with some inspiration from the Tata Altroz, for a sharper and more
aggressive design, as well as new alloy wheels and front bumper. Seeing that
the competition has started offering LED DRLs in this segment, that feature may
also be included in the new model.
The 2020 Tata Tiago will likely be offered with
upgraded, BS-VI compliant version of the 1.2-litre Revotron naturally aspirated
three-cylinder petrol engine (86PS/114Nm) and the BS-IV 1.05-litre Revotorq
turbocharged three-cylinder diesel engine (71PS/140Nm). The diesel engine isn't
going to be upgraded to BS-VI, and it will be discontinued by early 2020.
