Nio is joining forces with Razer, one of the biggest
brands in gaming, for a cross-platform partnership. Their first product is the
limited edition ES6 Night Explorer. The new Nio ES6 Night Explorer
will debut at Razer’s booth in the 2019 ChinaJoy show and will become available
in just 88 examples to the Chinese market. Price is set at around 467,800 yuan
(US$ 67,400).
The new special edition of the Nio ES6 is based on
the model’s Performance Edition and features an exclusive Razer visual
appearance pack, including the company’s logo, carbon fiber decals, green
calipers, a custom rear badge and more.
Nio’s midsize electric SUV is powered by dual motors
that combined produce 536hp, making the ES6 capable of a 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and a 200 km/h top speed. When paired to the
range-topping 84kWh battery pack, the Nio ES6 can travel up to 510 km on a single charge per the NEDC test cycle.
The bodywork of the ES6 is made out of
aerospace-grade aluminum and parts of the chassis are made out of carbon fiber.
Inside, the dashboard is dominated by a big touchscreen display that runs the
company’s own NOMI system, while there’s also a digital instrument cluster and
a semi-autonomous driving system.
Nio and Razer will further explore the integration
of technologies like Razer Chroma, Hue Lights and THX Spatial Audio into the
former’s vehicles, targeting the expanding customer base of gamers.
