Pagani has teased a roadster version of the Huayra
BC, which has been seen testing as early as last year. The photo posted on its
social media page doesn’t reveal much of the finished product, but is said to
be “a tremendous science and design challenge.”
Reports indicate the Huayra BC Roadster will be even
lighter than the coupe, with plenty of work done to fit the roofless design.
There are no official numbers as of yet, but the regular Huayra BC weighs 1,218
kg compared to the Huayra Roadster (1,280 kg), which itself tips the scales at
80 kg less compared to the first Huayra.
The lightweight construction method will likely see
the use of materials like Carbo-Titanium and Carbo-Triax HP52, while power
comes from a 6.0 litre twin-turbo V12 that is also found in the coupe with 745
horsepower and 1,100 Nm of torque.
Unsurprisingly, the car will be rather exclusive,
with 100 units said to be the production run planned. Considering the Huayra BC
costs around US$ 2.55 million, the roadster should command an even higher
premium. The car will likely be unveiled at Pebble Beach during Monterey Car
Week this year.
