The eye-catching Puritalia Berlinetta will celebrate
its UK premiere at the exclusive Salon Privé event in early September. The company took the wraps off
its hybrid sports car at this year’s Geneva Motor Show and to say the car turned
a few heads would be a massive understatement.
Due to the costs involved in developing a
high-performance hybrid, it’s not very often that we see them from small car
manufacturers, but that’s exactly what Puritalia has done with the Berlinetta.
Powering the sports car is a 5.0-liter V8 with 730 HP that has been paired with
an arial flux electric motor on the rear axle that provides an additional 212
hp and 370 Nm of torque, resulting in a total of 951 HP and 1248 Nm of torque.
The Berlinetta also features a seven-speed
transmission with paddle shifters and, according to Puritalia, can accelerate
to 100 km/h in a rapid 2.9 seconds and max out at 335 km/h.
The car can also be driven in all-electric mode for up to 20 km.
Autocar reports that alongside premiering the
Berlinetta at Salon Privé, the car manufacturer will announce its plans to sell
the vehicle in right-hand drive markets such as the UK and Australia.
