Royal Enfield has
commissioned a custom Interceptor INT 650 that will take you back in time. This
retro-classic take on the company’s middleweight motorcycle comes from
France-based Baak Motocyclettes. The custom vehicle was showcased at the 2019
Wheels and Waves Festival, and it’s one of the prettiest modified Interceptors
that we have seen till now. Taking the retro-looks of the Interceptor INT 650
further back in time was not an easy task as it already features an old-school
look. But several manhours at Baak Motocyclettes’ workshop ensured that the
product final stands out from the crowd of modified bikes.
The modified
motorcycle retains the spherical shape of the headlight along with the halogen
internals for a retro look. The custom-built front fender replaces the stock
unit. The revised cockpit brings a single-pod instrument console to the package
while the low-set, wide handlebars tweak the ergonomics. The handle tilts
towards the rider for a more comfortable riding stance. Switchgear and the
rear-view mirrors come from aftermarket bin to enhance the retro looks of the
Gallinella.
The fuel tank gets
a dual-tone finish with Baak branding and white paint for the recesses. An
identical theme is used on the custom-built side panels of the bike. The custom
side panel gives it an almost flat track style bike’s look. The short rear
fender houses an aftermarket taillamp while the number plate sits next to the
left side spring of the shock absorber. The short exhaust pipes give it a
compact and minimal look while enhancing its vocals. The wheels and spokes have
been given black paint while the tyres are wider than the stock units. The
unique tread patterns look appealing.
The hardware
specifications arre unaltered, and the custom Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650
rides on conventional telescopic forks at the front and twin-sided springs at
the back. The rear shock absorption setup is neatly hidden behind the new,
wider side panels. Braking department features disc brakes on both wheels. The
Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650 comes with the safety net of dual-channel
ABS.
The custom Royal
Enfield Interceptor INT 650 looks achingly beautiful, to say the least, and an
ideal tribute to the retro-bikes that sparked the admiration for motorcycles in
many of us petrol-heads.
