Tata Motors previously showcased the Dark Edition of
the Harrier at its Annual General Meeting, and the same is said to be headed
for a launch later this month. In a new development, the upcoming model's
official images have leaked online along with some fresh details.
The all-black treatment has certainly made the Tata
Harrier look more aggressive than the regular variant. The dark theme
complements the Harrier's somewhat futuristic front fascia and contributes
towards making the SUV look even bolder. The new model even gets R17 Blackstone
alloys, special 'Dark' badging on the left side body, Atlas Black door handles,
grey headlamp bezels, and Blackstone front and rear skid plates.
The cabin mimics the
exteriors as it gets an all-black theme. A black upholstery takes place of the
brown one found on the standard model. Also, the faux-wood panel found on the
dashboard of the regular version has been replaced with a textured matte-grey
trim. The Tata Harrier Dark Edition will
be sold exclusively in XT and XZ trims.
The company has even introduced various
service-level updates on the Harrier to enhance the performance of its flagship
SUV. Furthermore, Tata Motors recently launched dual-tone colour schemes in
celebration the 10,000 sales milestone of the Harrier. Moreover, the official
accessories list for the Harrier has been updated with the option of an
electric sunroof.
Soon, the SUV will even receive a BSVI-compliant
version of its current 2.0-litre diesel mill. The updated motor will output 170
PS. The Tata Harrier might even receive 18-inch rims. The company has been
rolling out these updates in order to keep the Harrier competitive in a segment
that has witnessed a lot of action due to the entry of the Kia Seltos and the
MG Hector. Speaking of these rivals, while the former has already raked in
around 28,000 bookings ahead of its launch, the latter stands sold out for
2019.
